Our Ministries
What is a Life Group?
Life Groups are one of the primary ways we make disciples at Hillsboro Presbyterian Church. These groups consist of 6–8 families from various generations and life stages who gather regularly to share life together through fellowship, prayer, and studying God's Word. We believe spiritual growth happens best in community, where younger and older believers can encourage, support, and learn from one another. As they walk through life's joys and challenges together, Life Group members help one another follow Jesus and live out the gospel in everyday life.
What does life-on-life mean?
The name Life Groups reflects our desire to do life together. Life-on-life means building genuine relationships that go beyond church services and into everyday life. We learn, serve, pray, celebrate, and support one another through life's ups and downs. Your Life Group is more than just a Bible study—it's a community of people you can count on, grow with, and walk alongside in faith.
What does a Life Group gathering look like?
Every Life Group gathering starts with connection and fellowship. Although each group has its own personality, you can expect to share a meal, snack, or coffee while building relationships and engaging in meaningful conversation. From there, we spend time studying God's Word, discussing how it applies to our lives, and praying for one another.
Example Schedule

Fellowship & Connection • 6:00–6:45 PM

Share a meal, snack, or drinks while catching up, building relationships, and doing life together.

Study, Discussion & Prayer • 6:45–7:45 PM

Spend time engaging with God’s Word, discussing how it applies to everyday life, and praying for one another.

Closing & Cleanup • 7:45–8:00 PM

Wrap up the evening, connect with others, and help reset the space.

What about kids?
Bring them! Children are a valued part of our church family, and we want Life Groups to be a place where entire families can belong. Because every group is made up of different families and life stages, each Life Group will determine the childcare arrangement that best fits its needs.
